GIFT OF HANDS is a volunteer creative group who meet twice a week to make things.
Using recycled materials, they sew, they crochet, they knit, they felt and they weave. Everyone finds something to do that they enjoy. Sometimes it is helping with parts of a project, but most often it is choosing a project with a colour scheme of choice and completing the activity in their own time.
On occasion people take their project home and work on it, but everyone has a tray that holds their work until the next time they come in.
People help each other and teach what they know. It is a relaxing and enjoyable experience and all are welcome.
There is no checking in and out, you come and join in when you can.
The meetings are currently being held in Tiernaur Hall off the N59 between Mulranny and Westport. Take the turn to the Killeen cemetery.
WHEN: Monday mornings 10 am to 1 pm
Tuesday Nights 7 pm to 10 pm
WHY: To create together and make things for sale. This unique social event raises money for other local volunteer groups through the sale of their work in Westport shops and the summer Craft Shop in Mulranny.
